Admission Procedures

Candidates who are interested to pursue their MBBS course and selected by the Directorate General of Health Services, through a competitive examination will be eligible for admission in TMSS Medical College. Admission in TMSS Medical College will be conducted on first comes, first admission basis; while chronology of merit will strictly be followed. Candidates will have to undergo a medical test to prove their physical competency. Students who have passed SSC and HSC or equivalent, having at least GPA 3.5 individually and combined GPA – 8 can apply for admission in MBBS course. Students who have passed HSC or equivalent examination two years before commencing of the session are not eligible to apply. Students with GCE O & A Level or 12th grade should have equivalent certificate from Directorate General of Health Services, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Prescribed admission form and prospectus will be available from the office of the principal and in the Head Office of TMSS (TMSS Bhaban, West Kazipara, Mirpur-10, Dhaka-1210). Admission Provision of Foreign Students
Provision for admission of foreign students is available in this medical college. Interested candidates are suggested to contact Bangladesh embassy/High commission located in their country for relevant information and instructions. Students are advised not to send application directly to the college. Few seats are reserved for the candidates from the SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Ca-operation) countries.

Work Plan for submission of application & admission of Foreign Students in MBBS/BDS Course during session 2012-2013

(a)  Last date of application receives by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Bangladesh for admission in MBBS/BDS Course is November 15, 2012.

(b) Last date of application dispatch by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Bangladesh to the DGHS, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh for evenness of application is November 25, 2012.

(c)  Last date of the evenness of application by the DGHS, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh is December 07, 2012.

(d) A meeting for taking final decision by the Ministry of Health & Family welfare will be arranged on the 2nd week of December 2012.

Admission policy
Admission to TMSS Medical College for the five-year MBBS degree course is open to all individual and meeting the selection criteria laid down in the prospectus. The number of students admitted is 110. Admission shall be on merit and shall follow the same criteria as prescribed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council.

Admission process
The applications for admission to First year MBBS classes of the TMSS Medical Colleges at Bogra are invited through an advertisement published in the prominent Dailies. Submition of Application
All candidates applying for admission to the First Year MBBS against open merit seats and all other categories of seats are required to pass the Entry Test with a minimum score fixed by the authority. The procedure is as follows:

Applications for Entry Test to First Year MBBS Class are invited by an advertisement through the press. The application can be submitted to TMC Office date specified in the advertisement. Any application received by post or in person after the due date and time does not entertain /consider.

A candidate for admission must submit an application in his own handwriting, in prescribed Application Form. This form, duly completed in all respect along with necessary documents, must be submitted to the office of the Principal before the last date. Incomplete, defective and late applications will not be considered and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.

Moreover, Certificates / following documents to be attached to Application Form:

a. Copy of SSC and HSC equivalent certificate and academic transcript (duly attested.)
b. Conduct certificate/Testimonial from the Head of the Institution.
c. Six Copy attested passport size photographs and two copy stamp size (Colored, front view).
d. Declaration of financial solvency of parents/Guardian.
e. Certificate of extracurricular achievements if any.


Selection of candidates
The merit of the candidates is worked out as under:
Final selection of candidates shall be on merit based on scores of
a)         Admission Test (MCO)                            :100
b)         (SSC OPAX 8)+ (HSC GRA X 12)           :  100
Total                                                                   :   200
Admission Test shall consists of an hour’s written Examination consisting of MCQS based on HSC Syllabus in Physics (20 marks), Chemistry (25 marks), Biology (30 marks), General knowledge (10 marks) and English (15 marks).

The merit list of candidates will be prepared by the office of The Chairman, Admission Board.

Admission to the course
List of finally selected candidates will be notified in the College Notice Board. Candidates finally selected shall have to be admitted by the announced date and time. Otherwise their selection may be cancelled and the place will be filled up from among the candidates in waiting list.

Expense of the Course
Tuition and other fees payable at the time of admission will be notified in the college notice board. All payments are to be made as per TMC admission rule.

Conduct and discipline
During their stay at the college all students are required to abide by all the rules and regulations of the college. Non-adherence to these rules and regulations marks the students liable to disciplinary action, which may range from warning to expulsion from the college. Students in TMC are forbidden to organize any union, association or society other than those set up by the college authority in order to enrich their physical, intellectual and ethical development.

The candidates and their parents or guardians are required to sign bonds on non-judicial stamp regarding the terms and conditions of study, conduct and discipline before admission to the college. Admission formalities will be incomplete without submission of the bond.

01. I shall abide by all the rules and regulations of the Medical College.
02. I will refrain from any activities that my tarnish the image and credibility at TMC, Bogra.
03. I shall not behave individually or collectively in any manner unbecoming of a student or   resort to any action prejudicial to the interest of the College of Hospital.
04. I fully comprehended in sound mind. I am liable to be punished which may go up to expulsion from college for any misconduct as understood by the college authorities.
05. I will not claim any money paid to the Medical College authority if my admission is cancelled by myself or by Medical college authority.
